The Battery

We are proud to use Safty batteries on our electric bikes. Battery is the most important component in the electric bike. It’s a power source and the heart of the bike which is responsible for power delivery. Our battery is an advanced technology lithium polymer battery with compound cathodes. Safty offers outstanding performance even in extreme situations at the high discharge rates. Safty batteries originally have been used in the aircrafts, helicopters, military and medical equipments where the power delivery has to be of the highest level. These days Safty also moved to the electric vehicles where they can offer outstanding technology being previously unavailable in public devices. All batteries manufactured by Safty are well known for ability to very high discharge rates which is quite uncommon for the lithium polymer batteries. We are confident that Safty offers one of the best lithium polymer batteries available on the market.

Range explained in detail:

• Pedal Assist Mode - up to 60 miles

• Throttle only - approx 32 miles

• Combined average - 42 miles

Our Safty battery pack is the 37V 13Ah which gives a massive 481 Watts Hours. It is one of the largest and most advanced battery pack available on the market. What will be the range of the bike with this battery? That will depend on the various number of factors such as terrain, wind speed, riders weight, tyres pressure, tyres tread, temperature and many many other factors. It is however tested that the power consumption will vary between the 8Wh to 15Wh per mile depending on the number of factors and the most average power consumption is approx 11.5Wh per mile. By looking at our Battery power pack we can there fore say that the range will be up to 60 miles with the power consumption of 8Wh/mile. With power consumptions of 15Wh/mile this range may be as little as 32 miles. We at Oxygen believe that is best to provide the data that will be most adequate to majority of cyclists therefore with most average power consumption of 11.5Wh/mile the average range will be 42 miles. These results may really vary for every individual as the number of factors influencing and affecting the range is huge that is why it is impossible to quote 100% precisely correct data.

The Motor

8FUN by Suzhou Bafang is a clear excellence in hub motors. These motors have external rotor permanent magnet brushless construction, a planetary gear-reducer system and one-way overstep clutch are mounted on the same shaft, the torque is transferred by the hub inner gear ring on the hub to the hub directly. The main advantage of the 8FUN motors is the brushless design which does not contain brushes. Unlike some other basic motors the new brushless design does not require maintenance. The hub design is small and lightweight and weights only 2.8kg. Hub motor offers excellent starting performance with no magnet hysteresis damping energy and good creeping slop capacity.
